The auxiliary verb used in the sentence is repeated in the tag question. If the given sentence is in the simple present or simple past tense, it will not have an auxiliary verb. In this case, use the auxiliaries do, does or did in the tag question.

Use do and does in the simple present tense.

Use do with plural subjects and I.

Use does with singular subjects.

Use did with both plural and singular subjects in the simple past tense.
