NTSE

National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is held with the objective of awarding scholarships to meritorious students studying in Class X. Winners will receive scholarships to pursue higher studies up to Ph.D. in sciences, languages, humanities, social sciences, commerce, fine arts and vocational studies. Those who pursue engineering, medicine, management, law and technology will also receive scholarships up to the second degree level. NTSE is conducted in two stages. NTSE stage 1 examinations are conducted by the states and union territories. The stage 2 examination is conducted by NCERT. About 1000 scholarships are awarded every year.

Eligibility

All class X students studying in a recognized school can write the NTSE exam. The applicants should not be employed. Also they should be appearing for the class X board exam for the first time.

Exam Pattern

There are 3 papers in both stages –

Mental Ability Test (MAT), (50 Questions / 50 Marks / 45 Minutes)
Language Test and (50 Questions / 50 Marks / 45 Minutes)
Scholastic Ability Test (SAT). (150 Questions / 150 Marks / 90 Minutes)

Syllabus

The questions will cover subjects like mathematics, English, general knowledge, mental ability, science, social science.
