Simple Present Tense Worksheet For Class 4 CBSE

In the simple present tense, the verb takes the marker -s when the subject is a singular noun or pronoun.

  • She lives across the street. (Here we write lives because the subject is the singular pronoun she.)
  • Raju earns a living by working two jobs. (Here we write earns because the subject is the singular noun Raju.)

The verb does not take the marker -s when the subject is a plural noun pronoun.

  • Children start walking at around one year old.
  • We take a vacation every six months.

I is an exception to this rule. Although it is a singular pronoun, when the subject is I, the verb does not take -s.

  • I live with my parents.
