Singular Or Plural Nouns Worksheet For Class 8

Some nouns do not have singular forms. For example, cattle is a word collectively used to talk about cows, bulls and calves. It does not have a singular form. You cannot say two cattle or four cattles.

Always use a plural verb with cattle.

Likewise, the noun police does not have a singular form. It is always used with plural verbs.

Other common nouns that have no singular forms are: trousers, jeans, pyjamas, pants, scales, scissors, glasses and binoculars. You cannot say ‘a trouser’ or ‘a jean’. However, you can say ‘a pair of trousers or jeans’.
