Formation Of Negatives | Class 4 English Grammar Worksheets
Change the following sentences into negatives. In the simple present tense we make negative forms with do and does.
Note that do is used when the subject is a plural noun or pronoun. The first person singular I also takes do.
Use does when the subject is a singular noun or pronoun.
Common mistakes
- Correct: He does not want to go.
- Incorrect: He does not wants to go.
- Correct: The old woman does not live with her children.
- Incorrect: The old woman does not lives with her children.
Does want means the same as wants. Likewise, does live means the same as lives.
