Our gardener is a 30 year old man from Madhya Pradesh. We call him Ramu Kaka. He is only five feet tall and has a black complexion. His hair is also jet black. He hails from a small village and came to Pune 10 years ago looking for work. He has been taking care of our garden for 2 years. Everyone in my family likes him very much. He is such a kind and helpful person. He also loves plants a lot. You can ask him anything about plants and he will answer your questions readily. Whenever he goes to his native place, he brings with him a lot of plants. He is quite passionate about conserving the environment too. He is against using chemical fertilizers. Instead, he uses bio compost which he himself makes using waste from our kitchen. Ramu Kaka is married with two children. He has completed high school but he could not study any further due to financial problems in his family.
