Some adjectives are followed by of. Examples are: kind, nice, good, polite, stupid, silly and generous

Note the structure: Adjective + of + somebody (to do something)

  • It is kind of you to feed that poor dog.
  • It was generous of him to share his meal with that poor beggar.
  • It was stupid of me to leave home without locking the door.

Some adjectives are followed by about /with. Examples are: angry, annoyed, furious, upset

You can be angry about something or you can be angry with somebody for doing something.

  • A lot of young people are angry about the system.
  • Why are you angry with me?
  • He was annoyed with me for being late.
  • Sam is upset about not getting the job.

The adjectives excited, worried, nervous, happy etc., is followed by about.

  • He is excited about the picnic.
  • Are you nervous about the interview?

You can be pleased, satisfied, happy, delighted or disappointed with something.

  • Are you pleased with your exam results?
  • I am disappointed with my performance.
  • He is satisfied with the progress he is making.
