Simple Present Tense Exercise
Structure: Subject + infinitive (first form of the verb) + object/complement
I love sweets. (subject – I; verb – love; object – sweets)
We are ready. (subject – we; verb – are; complement – ready)
The Simple Present Tense is used:
1) To express a general truth
Sugar is sweet.
Honesty is the best policy.
Man is mortal.
Sun rises in the east.
2) To talk about a habit or custom
I go to school everyday.
The shop opens at 9 am.
3) To say what is happening at the moment of speaking
The child sleeps.
I write.
They play.
