The present continuous tense is used to talk about actions and situations that are going on at the moment of speaking. For example, I am typing right now.
We make the present continuous tense forms with the help of the auxiliary verb be. In the present continuous tense be has three forms – is, am and are.

• Use is with singular nouns and singular pronouns (he, she and it)
• Use am with the first person singular pronoun I.
• Use are with plural nouns and plural pronouns (they, we and you)
