A web designer is similar to a graphic designer. His duty is to focus on the user interface and the look and the feel of the website. He is responsible for the layout, colour, and font styles etc. A web developer, on the other hand, is a software developer or software engineer who is specifically engaged in the development of World Wide Web applications and undertakes programming tasks for a website.

Hence students must keep a portfolio of their work. Freshers can earn around Rs 7000 per month, while professionals web developers earn anywhere between Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 per month depending upon the company in which they work and the experience they have in the field.
